SENIOR I PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Band 7 AfC (£29,789 to £39,273); 37. 5 hrs/week; permanent position.

The Oxford Centre for Enablement provides a concentration of expertise in a way that makes the best use of resources, specialist skills and advanced technology for people with disabilities from Oxfordshire and beyond. The Specialist Disability Service (SDS) is an established tertiary service that consists of experienced professionals who specialise in the management of people with complex disabilities providing comprehensive holistic assessment and assistive technology.

We place a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and continuing professional development, which is supported by active education programmes, individual performance reviews and professional supervision by experienced staff

For this exciting opportunity to work in an inspiring and unique service we are looking for a person with a high level of clinical and communication skills, and enthusiasm for working within the field of complex disability. You will be working with a team of highly specialised clinicians e.g. Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist and Clinical Engineers. Your primary responsibilities would be clinical and key tasks include:
• Assessment of clients of all ages with complex disabilities (mostly neurological)
• Provision of advice and recommendations for both adults and children particularly in the field of 24 hour posture management
• Full involvement in the assessment and provision of customised seating systems for people with complex postural presentations
• The service is a tertiary service and as such you will be travelling to various parts of the country to carry out assessments in the environment most appropriate for the client.

Clinical experience of working with people with complex disability and experience of working within the NHS will be essential for this post. Post graduate training in posture management will be preferable.
